This paper presents the results of identifying and analyzing the phases present in the microstructure ofĀ 4 aluminum piston alloys with different chemical composition. Optical microscopy and scanning electronĀ microscopy were used to study the microstructure of the samples and EDS analysis was used to identify thecomposition of the phases. The phase stoichiometry was identified by comparing the results of EDS analysisĀ with the results reported in the studied literature. The results show that different intermetallic phases canĀ appear depending on the chemical composition of the microstructure of aluminum piston alloys

On the way to building smart factories as the vision of Industry 4.0, the casting process stands out as a specific manufacturing process due to its diversity and complexity. One of the segments of smart foundry design is the application of artificial intelligence in the improvement of the casting process. This paper presents an overview of the conducted research studies, which deal with the application of artificial intelligence in the improvement of the casting process. In the review, 37 studies were analyzed over the last 15 years, with a clear indication of the type of casting process, the field of application of artificial intelligence techniques, and the benefits that artificial intelligence brought. The goals of this paper are to bring to attention the great possibilities of the application of artificial intelligence for the improvement of manufacturing processes in foundries, and to encourage new ideas among researchers and engineers

Application of Machine Learning in the Control of Metal Melting Production Process

    Get PDF
Abstract This paper presents the application of machine learning in the control of the metal melting process. Metal melting is a dynamic production process characterized by nonlinear relations between process parameters. In this particular case, the subject of research is the production of white cast iron. Two supervised machine learning algorithms have been applied: the neural network and the support vector regression. The goal of their application is the prediction of the amount of alloying additives in order to obtain the desired chemical composition of white cast iron. The neural network model provided better results than the support vector regression model in the training and testing phases, which qualifies it to be used in the control of the white cast iron production

Microeconomics of the materials and energents consumption in a simulated copper casting process

    Get PDF
An analytical model for the optimization of the consumption of materials and energents in a typical coppercasting process based on a standard simulation procedure is presented. The proposed microeconomic analysisin correlation with the virtual manufacture of castings enabled a shortening of the time required to developa product, as well as the fabrication of high quality castings, which could be a crucial contributionto the achievement of increased engineering adequacy and economic competitiveness. In this sense, the article demonstrates the beneficial employment of mathematical programming withina systematic economic analysis. The analyzed casting process is a part of the metallurgical manufacturingoperations of the Copper Smelter and Refinery Bor, Serbia

Primena reverznog inženjeringa pri projektovanju radnog kola Peltonove turbine/Using of Reverse Engineering for Design of Peltone Turbine Runner energija

    Data security in mobile healthcare

Introduction/purpose: The digitization of healthcare has gained particular importance in the years since the emergence of COVID-19 and also has become one of the primary goals of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Telemedicine is a good solution when the patient cannot come to a healthcare facility. Mobile healthcare applications are already widely used, but in both fields the important challenge is data security. The aim of this paper is to review solutions for data security in mobile healthcare from the technical side and possible challenges in the process of digitization of the healthcare system in Serbia. Methods: This review is based on current papers in this area, on the available relevant literature and the authors' many years of experience in this field. Experiences in the process of digitization of healthcare in Serbia are based on available articles and regulations. Finally, possible challenges are presented from the authors' perspective based on everything presented in the field of data security in mobile healthcare. Results: The analysis of the papers reviewed from the point of view of data security showed that users are often ready to sacrifice their privacy for the sake of convenience provided by mobile applications. Conclusion: Based on the review of the papers and clear data security requirements that include the presented safeguards, one of the main tasks of the entire community is to raise awareness of information security and awareness of the need for cyber hygiene of each individual, which is the basis for the safe use of e-health services

Application of multimedia services in the broadband environment to improve logistic needs of the army

    No full text
The paper analyzes the flow of some multimedia services, and points to the possibility of applying some of the services in the broadband environment to improve the logistic needs of the army. The need to convey information in different forms (from text, data, graphics, still pictures to video motion pictures) is increasing continually. Requests for information transfer in high resolution require increasing the flow to several dozens of Mb/s. Broadband represents the platform for a wide range of multimedia services. Each multimedia service requires a certain flow which can be partially decreased with advanced coding techniques

Abstract Abstract: During the design process of vital structural components it is necessary to consider all engineering design aspects including the initial geometry, material selection, nominal loads, global and detailed stress-strain calculations. The objective of the present article is to outline the process of such multiparametric geometry optimization of a press for fine sheet-metal punching by using FEM analysis. An iterative process of the geometry optimization is illustrated on an example of the press exposed to high static loads under strict allowable deflection requirements. The initial press geometry is modified based on the obtained FEM simulation results. The static calculations are then performed repeatedly on the modified press models until the obtained stress and deflection values fell within the permissible limits. The press model adopted in the described process of iterative geometry modifications represents an input for the calculations under dynamic loads
